Mexican Court Delays Case
October 20, 2006: During a press conference in Honolulu, the Chapman legal defense team announced that the Mexican federal court will delay the criminal case against Dog, Tim and Leland until more evidence and testimony can be collected.
While bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, William Bollard, a member of the Chapman legal defense team who has been working closely with Mexican authorities, told reporters, "We have a very high degree of confidence that we will be able to successfully defend against those charges."
Since the arrests, members of Congress and loyal fans have sparked nationwide protests. Twenty-nine congressmen have sent a joint letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice asking her to deny the bounty hunting team's extradition to Mexico.
Dog was not wearing his electronic monitoring ankle bracelet after a judge early last week agreed he could remove it. In step with her husband, Beth stated "We will be vindicated because we did the right thing."

A Mexican federal court has temporarily halted the criminal case against Duane "Dog" Chapman.
Chapman, star of A&E's wildly popular "Dog the Bounty Hunter," held a press conference on Friday (Oct. 20) to announce that a court in Guadalajara ruled that until further evidence and testimony were gathered nothing in the case stemming from the 2003 capture of convicted rapist Andrew Luster would go forward. That includes the extradition proceedings against Duane Chapman, son Leland Chapman and unrelated fellow bounty hunter Tim Chapman.
The various Chapmans were arrested back in mid-September on kidnapping charges dating back to 2003 when the bounty hunters went down to Mexico to capture Max Factor heir Luster, who was on the run for several months evading multiple counts of rape. Mexican authorities wanted Luster handed over to them, denied Chapman and his gang permission to leave the country, declared them fugitives from justice and tried to get them extradited to Mexico for sentencing.
Chapman quickly posted the $300,000 bail and had been facing the extradition ever since.
Since that time, Chapman has been accumulating some pretty powerful allies. According to media reports, at least 29 members of Congress have sent a letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice asking her to deny the extradition, which seems like a fine use of the cabinet position in a time of war.

I doubt he will ever be returned on A&E on account that they made any such huge deal approximately dogs's racist remark concerning to his son's fiance or spouse who's black. The son recorded the communication and offered the story to a tabloid that went public with it. A&E cancelled the tutor presently after that.

I doubt he'll ever be again on A&E seeing that they made the sort of massive deal about dog's racist remark involving his son's fiance or spouse who is black. The son recorded the dialog and bought the story to a tabloid that went public with it. A&E cancelled the exhibit rapidly after that.

Various efforts to get Dog stayed from extradition are being attempted, thus far it appears he's being detained by the Feds until a Judge can determine whether extradition is warranted. Apparently, the gov is strongly considering actually sending him and his sons to the Mexican authorities. Last I heard he was being monitored like a common criminal on Parol, ankle monitor, 50 ft or yds from the house maximum allowance.
Hopefully public opinion will count for something...

As far as I know, he's still in jail in Mexico. It's a bunch of Bull**** if you ask me, I mean the reason they arrested him. But, I haven't heard anything new. I hope he can get out soon.
