I know that when you're breastfeeding, the baby gets what she needs. but when I express the milk and give her a bottle, how much should she be drinking?
she is now 6 weeks old.
Thanks!

KellyMom.com has a great milk calculator that can help you figure out the total amount the baby will need.

The biggest thing is to pay attention to the baby's signals: don't try to make her finish a bottle if she's not hungry, for example.

Start with 4 to 5 ounces. If she is still hungry the go to 6 but I think 4 would be plenty!!

It depends on the baby really but it is usually up to 4 ounces every 3 hours with a newborn, sometimes less. Your baby will tell you when he/she isn't hungrey anymore.

Try giving her 4 ounces at first. If she spits up any of it than you should cut down to 3. and then gradually work up to more!

its easier to just express everything and store what she doesnt eat, or try to express more even after youre empty to encourage more production.

6 week olds usually eat a few oz ever couple hours.

well ur pedatrician should be able to tell u that but im pretty sure its however much she wants at each feeding. try 6-8 oz at each feeding if not a little more, but i would still ask ur docotor because my memory is a little blurry... my little guy is already 2! :( lol so its hard to remeber.. but im pretty sure.

it varies, but 3-4 oz is most likely the range

Around two to four ounces is about right for that age.

I think about 4-6 oz. everybaby is different and eats different amounts. just empty your breast and offer what you have. this should be fine.

Half his weight in ounces--for example, if he weights 8lbs he should take 4oz--if he weights 10lb then he should take 5oz.
