"Deal or No Deal" is a twist on the old game show "Let's Make a Deal."
The game starts out with 26 cases, containing money amounts ranging from one penny to one million dollars. The contestant gets to pick one of those cases, which is theirs for the entire game - unless they decide to sell it to the banker.
The banker wants to buy their case for as little money as possible, and will make offers to buy it, but only after the person has opened up a number of the other 25 cases.
The number of cases that need to be opened, with each turn, decreases. It starts out with 6 cases, and drops until a person eventually only has to open one case at a time.
If a person opens only small amounts, the offer from the banker goes up; however, if they open a larger amount (especially the one million), the offer can go way down.
The ultimate goal is to try and leave the game either with the million in your case, or as much money as possible.

basically all the contestents randomly pick a box so no-one knows what the content of the box is, and one gets selected then they have to pick boxes and hope that they contain low numbers and depending every 3 boxes the banker makes an offer to buy the box of the contestant. The more high red numbers left on the board as the game progresses the better the contestant is doing and the higher the offer from the banker they will receive - hope that helps a bit

OK, I'll try - but it's sort of hard... they did a skit about how complicated it is on Saturday Night Live once...
OK, so there are 25 briefcases, right? Each one has a different amount of money in it. You (the player) choose one. You don't get to look inside it, so you don't know how much money is in it.
You then choose other cases to be opened. When those cases are opened, you find out how much money you DON'T have in your case (eg: if a case has $1 in it, you know that your case doesn't have that amount). Its a process of elimination.
After you choose a few, the "banker" offers you money to buy your case. I think this offer is based on the average of the remaining amounts. (All the available amounts are shown on a large board). You can take his deal, or you can keep eliminating cases, until yours (and therfore, the $ amount in it) is the only one left.
Basically, you can choose to sell your case for the offerd amount, or keep the money in it.
It might be a little more clear if you tried the online version: http://www.mofunzone.com/online_games/deal_or_no_deal.shtml#
I know what you mean, though - the first time I watched it, I was SO confused!!

yeh its really easy
1 there are 22 player who each has a box with a sum of money in it.
2 one of those players is chosen at radom to play the game
3 then they have to select 5 boxs and revel the prizer money inside. once you have opened a box that prize money has gone it is knocked off the prize bored.you can never win that sum of money.
then a accoring to what is on the bored the banker offers the player a sum of money to stop the game there and not find out what is in there box. the sum of money that is in the players box
could be more or less that the bankers offer
it is tjhere choice wheather they have a deal with the banker or no deal.
if it no deal they move on and knock other prize moneys out.
the idea of the game is to lose the lower numbers in the boxes so the banker has to offer more money cause if he offers you a low sum of money and theres lots of high numbers on the bored you know though probibilty that you proberly have a high number in your box.
i dont know if that has made it clearer for you or not watch it you'll pick it up and love it.

its simple.
THIS IS HOW THE GAME WORKS!
22 sealed boxes each with a money amount inside..
The computer picks a random player to place themselves on the podium with a randomly numbered box selected by them before
the start of each show,
Now this person has to take several boxes per round to eliminate and the higher the amount the less they are likely to be offered.
Hoever when it gets near the end the player gets to keep the money in his box after eliminating them or take the dealers offer. now it may be something like
Box 21 has £5
The players box may have £100,000
Now if he says no deal he will win £100.000 but if he dealt he might not get it...
Its really that simple

Sure. This is a extremely difficult game show that takesx a lot of skill...First the contestant opens a suitcase, and there is a number inside....after that he opens anoter suitcase and there is another number inside...They were thinking of adding in some trivia questions at some point, but you can only have SO MUCH involved in a show about opening suitcases before it gets too hard for the average contestant...

22 boxes one contestant, sums of money from 1p to 250 grand, as each box is opened the amount of money that could potentially be in the players box goes up or down according to which sums of money are left - the banker makes offers accordingly, and the contestant may choose to Deal or No Deal

basically person playin game needs to eliminate all boxs in the hope that the box they have contains the 350'000, the banker offers deals throught game, if theres more blues showing then the bankers offer would be less because theres more chance the person playing game will have one of those low amounts in there box, if there is more red left then bankers offer would be higher cos there hoping you will settle and then they get away with paying you less money (your box may contain one of the higher amounts of money), if you settle then they will still carry on with game to see what you couuld of gone home with.

Personally I think it's c.rap but it's tremendously popular. There's an interesting Guardian article from a couple of weeks ago which goes behind the scenes and partly explains the fascination:
