Can waiting for a period to come actually delay it? I was supposed to start on the 11th. I was anxious about it coming. It didn't come until the 13th.

I am 24 and trying to conceive my periods are usually regular. This one came 2 days late. Will that mess up my ovulating day?

Are you anxious because you think you might be pregnant? If so, buy a home pregnancy test.

Otherwise, some women have regular cycles, some have irregular cycles.

Not knowing your age, it is safe to say that your body is the time keeper of your period. They only real way to prolong the start, is with depo shots for birth control.

Long term use of depo and its associated side effects have not been documented, but some people have gone a year or so without a period, because every three months, they get their depo shots.

Talk it over with your doctor as this medication may not be for you. Each person is different so, a one on one with your doctor is the best approach. Stress can also slow down the start of your period.

Also, any oral or injectable birth control does not protect from STD's, so use caution if you are sexually active.

Yes, you can delay your period. Stress, weight gain, and weight loss can delay it. Stress affects the hormones in your body that activate and regulate menstration. The hormones that regualte your period actually come from your hypothalamus and pituitary glands (in your head). I have noticed that when I have thought that I was pregnant (and that would be a good thing), I start thinking about that and my period usually comes later. Don't freak out, there is nothing wrong with you. This is completely normal!

Stress can cause your period to be delayed. So can the moon. Being 2 days late is not a big deal. Some variation on the day of onset is normal.

Yes. In many cases, the anxiety of waiting for a period, usually caused by the unwanted or wanted expectations of pregnancy, can delay a period from arriving ontime.

Well...the whole 28 day cycle is an estimate. Many woman fluxuate slighty (1-2 days) every month. It is not strange that you were two days later than you expected. Who knows though...the mind is a powerful thing...lol
