...get mad about the yankees, and to a lesser extent the red sox spending money
i absoulutely despise the yankees, but i really get irritated by people getting mad at them for spending the resources that they have; what do you want them to do..keep rolling in the dough and just sit there or actually spend the $ and put a winning team on the field
if you were a fan of the most popular team baseball who has merchandising sales through the roof, from people who dont even care about the sport, wouldnt you expect them to put that money back into the team in some capacity

The Yankees also pay the most in revenue sharing. I agree that some other team's owners are not putting the money they earn back into the team. And the team with the biggest payroll does not always win the World Series. It increases the team's odds of making it to the post season but I would rather have a team with good players, chemistry, and a strong-will to win rather than a team of high-priced superstars that can't seem to win for the glory of the game.

I absolutely agree with you. I hate the Yankees too but if you have the resources, why not use them. They are the highest profiting team in baseball before salaries. Big deal if your team doesn't have the money to sign some of these guys. If you have that much of a problem with t go out and find some people to support your team with you. Go to the games and buy the merchandise.

I totally agree with you. Being a Cubs fan, I don't know about winning teams, but I know if I was in George Steinbrenners position, I would want to win also. The way to win these days is to spend money. I think it is more of a jealousy thing with most people. People are jealous that the Yankees are always in the playoffs. If I was a MLB player, I would want to play for the Yanks because I know they will pay for me and get me in the playoffs with a chance for a World Series Ring.

The Yankees are not evil. They have the biggest market in baseball that affords them the capital to field the very best players in baseball. That, as we have seen since 2000, DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE BUY CHAMPIONSHIPS! Nor does it mean that the Bosox will do the same.
If "Evil" means that we have the best team in baseball then I hope we are very evil next year.
