There really is no comparison. The Romans set out to conquer the known world, and indeed they did. The United States has never set out to colonize the world. In fact, we are the only nation in history who rebuilt the countries were defeated in war. Examples are Germany and Japan. The Romans were a warlike civilization. The United States is not!!

I even have concept approximately this problem for incredibly a on the comparable time, being each and every a citizen of the U. S., as stable as of universal Italian (subsequently "Roman" ethnic history. there are of course direct comparisons as each and every international places began as colonies of option empires which they later have been given right here to rule themselves. rome was once based via Greeks, might desire to you think of the Trojan wars, and for sure the U. S. was once colonized via the British who're extremely basically some consumer (or with the aid of fact the Romans might desire to assert, a "vassal" state.) the two the U. S. and Rome began out with kings, who they dethroned (the Estrucan Kings vs the British King) the U. S. has been a republic (a minimum of in call) once you think approximately that 1776, on the comparable time the Roman Republic lasted for an entire 500 years, and then the Western Roman Empire persevered for yet another 5 hundred years, and the jap Empire went on for a added 1000 years....the U. S. does have a delightful awareness contained in the actuality that that's an finished continent surrounded via oceans. alongside with the U. S. hassle-free sources and technological ingenuity, the U. S. can go on for an prolonged very long term. We might desire to truthfully be knowledgeable a functional classes from the Romans approximately empire, in that we'd desire to offer up bankrupting our treasury with international imperial wars each and every time possible, As far as how long the U. S. can very final, i might say that we now have won an prolonged technique of pass to pull in spite of the Romans...

No comparisment. The Roman goal was world domination and were pretty ruthless in trying to achieve this goal. The USA never supported this ideal, In fact they played a major role in preventing this happening against Hitlers regime and the USSR during and after W.W 2. I believe that if it was not for the USA Russia would have walked all over Europe. The Russians did'nt withdraw from countries like Poland after they liberated them from the tyranny of the Nazis . America only stayed in Germany after the war to prevent the Russians advancing through the rest of Europe and to support Democracy in the west . America will leave Iraq in the future, they never intended to stay in Iraq.

Anyone who thinks the US is kind and pure on the worldwide military front is a moron. Why do we have 130+ military bases around the world if we aren't empire building? We killed over 1 million Iraqis, countless Japanese, Germans, etc. We are pure evil.

Rome was honest about being a ruthless empire, the US is not. Look at the thousands of children killed in Iraq, and some people think this war does no harm!
Also, Rome had better parties.

Economically yes but militarily they are different, Romans were ruthless and very disciplined did not care much about children of their enemies.
America seems to help countries like Iraq, Afghanistan and so many other counries in the world, they help Israel and it is good God bless them.
