Lot's of people here who ask questions are really not looking for honest answers. Rather, they are just looking for people who aggree with their point of view. If you don't agree with them, they turn nasty. It's a shame.

Yes I was actually just about to ask this question myself.
I just had a second e-mail from this oversensitive girl who didn't want to hear an opinion that differed from her own even if it was well meant. And I get this barrage of shite in my e-mail about "How dare you" and "What are you even doing on this site" and "If you can't be sensitive then don't answer"
What a load of crap. Little miss I'm so sensitive is the person in the wrong place I think.
If you don't want to take a few hits in your search for an answer then don't put yourself in the firing line
Hell I have been called allsorts in answers to my questions but I have never once got on my high horse with anyone, save having a joke with them in additional comments
You know who you are now please stop taking out your insecurity on the rest of us. We shouldn't have to all have to bend and bow just because you're in the house

It is because they aren't really asking a question to get an answer as much as they are just looking for people to agree with their view on things. Every notice how some Best Answers that are picked are ones that agree with the Asker and the ones that don't are given a thumbs down?

People need recognition and gratification and forums like this satisfy that need in some twisted way because now they are in print. The down side is they haven't realized that not everyone thinks their way and so the ego, now enlarged and out of rational control, has to react to preserve the belief system of that individual...hence the rants and anger...they, in their minds are under attack...sad but true...

People behave strangely. Now we see a fight between believers and Science. Science doesn't need to believe into and shows evidences for all it brings to knowledge.
Beliefs are an attempt to make anxiety less painful. The first Humans lived in the dark, surroundered by dangerous animals. When fire appeared, it was probably considered as a gift from the ancestors or from the Gods. Because humains think, they needed to consider themselves different from animals. This helped them to be more civilized but eventually, caused wars.
Humans have a part of animal nature plus a second nature that is very different. This frightens humans who need explanations. Humans suffer of self-conciousness. Animals are not self-concious. This was a huge mystery which needed a magical answer. What can be explained and relief anxiety becomes divine and sacred. Very soon, humains created towns and there was a need for rules. Babylon was the biggest of such cities and laws were needed.
Hammurabi created a code and rules for Babylon who was in revolt. Apparently, it became part of Coran and perhaps part of the first documents of Israel (because Israel was influenced by babylon). This is in the O.T. Thousands of years later, Jesus found that Israel religion was not so good and talked about forgivness, live, helping the poors all things that priests never did. so the priests wanted to get rid of Jesus and ask the Romans to condamn Him. But Romans refused. After the death of Jesus, things turned bad in Israel and many Apostles decided to go to Greece and few, to Rome as Rome didn't care about religions. (Rome punished Christians later during 100 years).
Jesus named himself as "son of Man" and "Son of God". Not the same God that Jewish people believed into. And the Kingdom he promised was not the one Jewiseh people were despaired to have, especially as a province of Rome.
The Coran was written during the 6th century A.D, in a time when the "prohet" cannot be angry at the Jewish people nor the Europeens countries that tried to overcome the collapse of Rome. We know that he tried to force people to believe in his religion mainly in (Irak) where he came from. He used violence helped by Saladin. He attacked several holy cities in east Irak.
It is only 5 centuries later that countries of Europe wanted to go back to Jerusalem and then, encounterd Muslims. The Europeans becoming the Infidels, Muslims wanted to kill. Then other invasions stroke Europe, one in Yougoslavia, where a Prince named Von Drakul was decided to stop it. He was extremely violent and courageous too. This was in late Middle Age. Two other invasions were attempted, one against Italy and one from Spain who lost the war. (Russia was attacked as well, from Muslims and many barbarian Tribes until alexander the Great ended this and conquered Ukraine and other muslims provinces. The major part of Russia, Siberia, was almost without inhabitants.

I suspect it's because they're actually making a statement that just happens to have a question-mark at the end.
Many of the questions are so obviously loaded that I wonder why they bother to ask at all.

Because the truth hurts and when that person has to see his/her ego being squashed in black in white or whatever color their computer screen is they feel the need to act like children.
