Knight was talking to one of his players and the player was not looking at him. Knight basically smacked his head "up", and told him to look at him

The media is trying to make a story. If the media did not bring this up, no one would have noticed. The player said there was nothing wrong with what Knight did. The players parents said that Knight did nothing wrong, and the school agreed. These kids have to learn some respect and if one of the best College Basketball coaches ever is trying to coach you, you have to look at him. Bobby Knight just taught that kid a very important life lesson that will go further than basketball.

Unfortunately Knight gets negative media attention because of his past antics. This really was a non-issue. He simply wanted the player to look him in the eye. I remember when Cosell made his gaff on Monday Night Football. He was simply commenting on a player's athletic ability and his own media turned it into something it wasn't. Then the feeding frenzy began.

Unfortunately for us all there is no delete button when we mess up.

I think that everyone is making to big of a deal about it. Yah From the veiw that they showed it it kinda looks like a quick upper cut. The media is not going to be happy unless they have something to be unhappy about.

what about it the kid needed to be smacked just for the lack of respect that he showed his coach by not looking at him when he was speaking to him or maybe he felt the kid needed to wake up
