"There is no evidence that marijuana causes infertility in men or women. In animal studies, high doses of THC diminish the production of some sex hormones and can impair reproduction. However, most studies of humans have found that marijuana has no impact of sex hormones."

I would say if you are trying to get pregnant, stop smoking though. Its not good for the baby and its not good for you.

Hey Steph~

I have heard reports that smoking pot lowers fertility esp with sperm count, mobility etc. I am not a doctor but I speak from experience. All of my friends are long term pot smokers (15-20 years or so) we are in our 30's now. Interestingly enough, all of my friends chose to buy into the "pot makes you infertile" line, chose not to use birth control, and they all have at least 1 child, some as many as 3.
Personally I don't have children, nor would I advocate smoking pot during a pregnancy and I defintely wouldn't count on pot as birth control.

No it does not. My boyfriend and I BOTH on a regular basis smoke pot, We have for years. We always heard that too. I got pregnant very easily. We were surprised. I quit smoking once I found out I was pregnant. Had a beautiful baby boy last month.

well sorta.. what it does is slow down the reproduction of egg in women and sperm in men..... just say u someked alot of pot in a couple months u have probably decreased ur chance of conception by 10-30 percent. also what happens with smoking pot is the THC is stored in body fat, which is 80 percent of an unborn baby and needed to be healthy otherwise.... its fun in all to smoke pot but not smart..... especially if u want a family later on....

preventing a volatile behaviour received't make you infertile. it really is like putting forward immediately away going from ingesting McDonalds 3 cases an afternoon to healthful balanced nutrients will make you infertile.

For a man it decreases sperm count, and for a woman, any use of any drug or medicine puts you at a risk of infertility. Even if you are still fertile, having it still in your system when becoming pregnant is still bad fo rthe baby and its development. It sucks but it is.

there are alot of factors in this. (I am a recovered pot smoker, not proud just know toooooo much) first of all it depends on the breed of weed. and where it was grown, and if the plant is male or female. If you smoke seeds, then for sure. seeds will make a female infertal and a male steral. but it all sepends on the other factors.

I don;t know if it can make you infertle but I do know that if you were to get pregnant and were still smoking pot that it can do serious damage -both physical and mental-to your baby.
