I am watching my niece today- she lives with me so its know like she doesnt know me- I am basically her 2nd mom.

She is not eating. I fed her her 8oz bottle when she woke up at 9am and then when she was ready for her nap at 10:30am she had her 4oz juice bottle. I am trying to feed her lunch- which is Bananas with Rice she is NOT eating. She clamps her little toothless jaw down and will not eat.

What do I do

As long as she is drinking, skipping a meal won't hurt her. She obviously doesn't feel like Bananas and rice. Can you offer her something else? If she doesn't want that, either, it's one or two things. She is either coming down with a cold or something (and has no appetite) OR she just isn't hungry yet. Wait a few hours and try offering her something again. Don't get upset. She'll eat when she feels like it. As long as she is taking fluids, she will be okay.

Too much liquid too close to eating baby food. Look don't force her. Just put the food sealed in the refrig... she may want it in the next 3 hrs. outwise throw it out.

As long as she is drinking her bottle, she is doing a normal pee/poop routine, doesn't have any fever she's fine. There is no rule that a child has to eat three time a day. It's really best if they have small amounts of food, drink 4-5 times a day. So that you nor they overfeed them. Relax and enjoy your day with her.

Don't stay on the computer if your not watching her. She can get into things .

Leave her be. She doesn't need solids every day at that age, let alone for more than one meal each day.

6 - 7 months Offer solids once a day, at most. Many start out offering solids every few days or even less often.

Solid food is for fun and learning, not nutrition at that age. So if it isn't fun, what's the point?

I only feed my 8 month old if he happens to want what I am eating when I am eating. And sometimes in the afternoon I will fix him a snack if he hasn't eaten and seems to be wanting it. But if he doesn't eat it it's no biggie.

At 7 months old if you are feeding her solids you need to cut out the 10:30 am feeding. You have filled up her tummy to much with all the fluid don't expect her to want to eat rikght after that....

Good Luck

Check to see if she is teething, this can supress her appetite. Or maybe she is coming down with a cold- check her temperature.
Just make sure that she is drinking plenty- it's more important for her to drink than eat at this point :)

Babies are just like grown ups, sometimes we're hungry, sometimes we're not. Everyday will be different. Babies are changing all the time, just when we've got their routine down pat, they go and change it! Until a baby starts to lose weight, I wouldn't worry to much.

Put some cheerios down.. somtimes they like to do it on their own.. that way it will be more like play... let her get messy and try to feed herself.
