The plumber just installed new fixtures but cold water is not coming out.

The fixture added was in the shower. The rest of the house works fine, cold water is not coming out out of the shower, only hot water is coming out. I opened the valve and turn on the cold water. But, cold water is not coming out yet.

We fitted a new shower and we had no water -

With ours it was that the plumber recommended fitting "double check" or "non returnable" valves in the plumbing leading to the shower. As soon as these were removed the water flow was as it should be.

Also the plumbing could be coming from the wrong pipe...

I think if you add more details you may get more expert advice...

ie Is it a POWER SHOWER or gravity fed?

Is it an electric shower?

Did they fit totally new pipes and where from? - Do the pipes run close to your water tank in the loft?

There could be hundreds of reasons why - including air in the pipes...!

Hope these questions help you find the right advice.

Get the plumber back and don't pay him until the whole system works properly. If you have paid him then for future reference aways hold back some of the cost until you are satisfied that everything is working.
Do you get hot water out, if so where is that coming from?
If there is no cold water filling your tank then soon you will have no water. If you have a combination boiler then you may have a different set of problems. Get th man back quickly.

10 points . . . switch OFF the hot water system . . . according to the K. I. S. S. system ( Keep It Simple , Stoopid ) .
If this works then you might also think about selling your hot water heating boiler / tank , especially if it is made of copper or titanium .
this should give you a good head start on hiring a lawyer so as to take the original plumber to court , to , in short order sue the erse off of him , which should get you enough hard cash to get another plumber to install a new boiler / tank as well as doing any other work in order to get the system working properly after your original dud plumber failed to do so !

What type of shower is it? Power, standard electric or direct mains? Power has two inputs H&C, electric has one C (heats locally), mains is just like your taps. When you say you have no cold, what type of system is it?
