"If we leave Iraq, it will result in chaos, the Bush administration tells us. "It will collapse into civil war without our presence," they further tell us. But it is already in chaos! And the US can't do anything about it. Let's face it The Iraqis are tired of us. Tired! No one has a handle on things there. Insurgents? AlQuada? Iranians? Syrians? Saddam faithfuls? We aren't even sure WHO are in charge of all of these killings, All the US military can do is to GUESS. They "all look alike", remember? The country has already descended into a death trap under our rule. US troops cannot prevent civil war. Just like Bush failed at importing democracy. The US took over the so-called Green Zone, a 7 mile long Saddam complex. Few ever left at first because it had all of the comforts Saddam could provide. Now, they are afraid to leave Now US contractors are pulling out with major projects either incomplete or never started .The Bush administration made a huge mistake invading that country....

This is surely the actions of the Insane. As if 20,000 more troops are going to make the difference?

A pal of mine in the forces tell me they are only allowed out of Barracks except in the day when patrolling and not at night when the insurgents then do their nasty work. Our troops clear up in the day and then the Iraqis replace at night whatever has been removed. This is a crazy situation which must end now.

my dad went to iraq

has it been mismanaged?-yes

have the soldiers been underequiped-somewhat

should have we gone in there to start with?-yes-it did support terrorists(why else would saddam and osama meet-not to talk about the weather), was saddam somewhat a terrorist in his own right?-yes, did he have weapons available to the al-qaeda-yes(remember-the big ones wouldnt help them out too much-u cant really hide those-thats why iraq concentrated on the smaller ones)

is there hope-i think so-u must remember that this is the first time they have been free-there religion also restricts freedom-so it is going to take some time for iraq to develop further-they have come a long way(elections, army, police,etc)-but there is a long way to go unfortunately-be patient-it is not a total disaster

I didn't read all that, but I think the country needs to decide whether we pull out now or send more troops in to finish the job and stop fighting halfway. It seems like there are equal numbers calling for both courses of action.

No number of troops will restore order in Iraq, the sectarian killing which began after the US. invasion cannot be stopped with troops.
The USA cannot sustain higher numbers of troops in Iraq, there simply isn't enough troops to do it, and i can';t see enough public support for a draft.
The only way to stop the killing of US. troops is to bring them home, George Bush has already stated that he wont do this, so the only course remaining is to make him, for democrats to cut off his war funding.
The only way to stop the Iraqi killing is to get them to sit down and resolve their issues peacefuly, they will demand their say in the future of Iraq, and an end to American "Supervision".

you are absolutely right.sending more troops will just get more of our soldiers and their innocent civilians killed.Iraq asked for help getting Saddam out of power.they didn't ask us to stay and have a government forced on them they don't want.the only right thing to do is get out of there.we as people of America are asked to vote people to lead our country.and it is suppose to be run the way we want .otherwise we vote someone else into leadership.so why don't they ask the American people what they want.just because they are voted in doesn't,t mean they no longer work for us.it means they are working for us.they need to get it straight.
