Wow--what a great idea. It would have saved me a small fortune on the divorce.

I've heard of this idea before, and certainly it seems a fairly good one. Seven years is rather long - i'd say 5. I probably wouldnt have renewed my last marriage when we got to the 2nd 5 years (i.e. 10 years) and in fact we split up at 12 years!

Mind you if you couldnt get a divorce if you'd renewed until the next time of renewal came up, then i wouldnt think it was a good idea!

most don't last that long
in effect they are renewable in real time just by not divorcing ( as for designing them to only last seven years that would be unworkable due to the mixed finances and a little hard on the kids )

haha...that's actually a good idea. But I think there should be marriage contract options, like 2 years, 5 years, 7 years and so on....kind of like a mortgage and each couple decides which one they want to chose...LOL.

Should be renewable every 12 MONTHS.

Bad idea for two reasons. Firstly marriage is for life and secondly that would only encourage people not to take marriage seriously and expect it to be longlasting.

That's a really good idea. Then we wouldn't have so many divorces, merely a contract that hadn't been renewed.

Well done. Like that one.

That sounds like a good idea. If your still together you could have another party and honeymoon. Does this mean we'll get presents too?
