it depends on the girl, is size all she is going to see, or is she mature enough to appreciate a high quality smaller diamond. Also ask around for a reliable jewler, do go to the mall.

1/2 carat isn't bad to start out with, 3/4 would be great, it can be mounted (special mounting) to make the stone stand out an appear larger... clarity is important... I would rather a high quality in clarity than size any day... good luck...

alot of my bf's friends are getting engaged at the mo so I know a bit about diamonds. Alot of people won't agree with me, but I would say cut. My preference is brilliant or princess cut, as it catches the light the best and is very petite and feminine. While it is important to have decent clarity, most people won't care or even know when they look at it. Hope this helps!!

The most important aspect of buying a diamond is your disposable income.

Conact any of them, the Diamonds are brilliant as any other rock, made in America, and they sorta use reclimation of land practices.

make sure that it's not a blood diamond, as in a diamond that has been bought through slave owners or conflict
