i know how to get there but there is not 256 colors in there.

The display setting shouldn't effect how the dialup connection itself works, but if the issue is really whether you can display internet web pages, then yes, 256 colors is usually the minimum requirment.

To set the number of colors (the display depth), right click on any open area of the desktop background (not within a window) and select "Properties". Then left-click on the "Settings" tab and select a "Color Quality" of at least 256 colors (8 bits). A setting of 32 bits is the best, if your display hardware supports it. You can also adjust the screen resolution on this same form.

there is no such project as 256bit color. there is 16-bit, 24-bit, and 32-bit color. There are also 16 hues and 256 hues (now to not be at a loss for words with 16 bit and 256-bit). 16 hues is 4-bit and 256 is 8-bit. better than probable, you want to reinstall your video drivers in case you reinstalled your living house windows. which could fix the video project.

just right click by your mouse on the desktop
click on the end of box"properties"
then there is a new box will appear
click on sittings
then you can change your color from the down left of the box
