This is actually an interesting phenomenon. When people of a different ethnic group that speaks English will actually switch between their accent and no accent depending on who they're talking to. Take people from like... the Caribbean islands for instance. They will talk in full patiouse to each other, but to a non islander they will have little to no accent. It's fasinating!

Lol it's a funny coincidence that you're asking this question: we currently have a group of French people at work for a visit and we went out for dinner yesterday night and we noticed some of us did take their accent. I realize that I do it a bit, but only with some words. Now which words and why, I couldn't say.

Yes and it's getting worse. I have finally picked up a little of my Mom's Kentuckian accent. I have been saying y'all a lot lately. Mom my hasn't lived in Kentucky since about 1959.

No. But I think if they are in my environment often I would learn their accent. If I am reinforced for using their accent in their presence I would be more likely to speak in their accent.

It happens to me but with delay, while I'm with them I exaggerate mine and then when I meet people that share mine I start talking with the person I just heard accent.

Yes. It drives me crazy when half way through the conversation i notice i'm doing it. And then its too late to change my tone. Will most likely look like a fool to the person if i did that.

Almost always within an hour. It's not intentional it just happens. I think I know to many Goofy Newfies, because I am starting to sound like one even when I'm at home.
