Basking sharks and whale sharks are fish that eat plankton that a killer whale may try to eat. Killer whales eat gray whales, minke whales, blue whales, and sperm whales but they are all mammals and not fish.

There are many fishes that eat plankton. Whale sharks are filter feeders, which means they feed on zooplankton. However there are many smaller fish species (the Clupeiformes = silver sides, anchovies, etc.) that are filter feeding and thus eat plankton.

As the other answerer said - whales eat plankton.

(And killer whales eat whales! Hence their name! It's odd when they are actually accurate, isn't it?)
