My boyfriend and I have been going out for just over 3 months. He's very sweet and likes to get me nice things, including roses on anniversary's and things like that. I want to get him a really nice Christmas present but I'm pretty much broke and won't have any cash until the New Year. I want to get him something and I was thinking, we both love snowboarding, so a picture of us on the hill or on the chair together? And maybe a hoodie or a shirt from a favorite band? Does this sound too impersonal? Guys your input here would be much appreciated.....

That sounds like a great gift . . . you might also get him a subscription to a snowboarding magazine or a rain check to go see his favorite band.

Your boyfriend probably knows you don't have a whole lot to spend this Christmas, so I'm sure that whatever you give him, he'll appreciate. The photo sounds nice, and I think he would really like a hoodie or something he could actually use. I think you can make it more personal by adding a sweet, heartfelt letter about how much he means to you. I know my boyfriend did that with all his family members last Christmas. We had absolutely no cash because we had both lost our jobs earlier in the year, so he just wrote them all nice letters about how much they personally had affected his life, and why he's a better person for having them in his life, etc. I know that a lot of them got all misty and loved their letters. So that's a good option.
Another time, when I was super broke and our 1 year anniversary was coming up, I made him one of those homemade coupon books, but in order to make it not be so cliche, I went ahead and added some funny coupons (Good for getting out of one pointless argument) and some naughty ones too, and on each coupon I made a hilarious little stick figure drawing of us doing whatever the coupon was for. He still has it to this day, and he never even cashed in the coupons because he liked the book so much.

I think that is a great idea for a gift. I have been with my BF for over 2 years !! and we never go big for x-mas. We go big for birthdays. X-mas time is soooo expensive, not only are we shopping for our BF's but we also have family and friends to think about.

This year I am getting my bf a subscription to NetFlix or snearkers with a subscription to a magazine (can't do both)

It's just been three months, I think a personal gift (such as a pic) and something he will use/like (and it'll show you know his intrests - brands, music, etc.) I'm sure he knows, to some extent, your finances and would appreciate anything! your ideas sound great

Knit a hat very easy to do. Go to the local craft store and buy some yarn.
