You would be looking at roughly half the price for a ecent brand of belt and an air filter. Check your prices at your local auto parts store. If you are even slightly enclined, you can replace these on your own. There is a tensioner pulley on the Ranger that you can use a cresent wrench on to gai leverage to release the tension if you have limited tools. Once you release the tension you can take the old belt off, re-route the new belt, releive tension on the pulley once again so you can put the new belt back on the pulleys and then release the tension onto the new belt. As long as you trace the belt over all the pulleys to make sure that you one each pulley true and straight, you're good to go. The air box will wither have a couple of clips or maybe some scres depending on your year (I don't recall) but you can also do thi.
What you would be paying for a tthe shop is the conveinence of having somebody else do it all right then and there. It si a one stop deal. Plus a little mark up on parts. Many people find it worth while to have somebody else do it because they will never get around to doing it all on their own and a shop can do it in minutes literally.
It's your call but I feel certain that you can complete the task if you got into it.

You can do both yourself very easy. Buy the belt and air filter from an autoparts store. The air filter will have a few small clamps on the box pop the clamps up and remove the old filter, clean any debis out of the box and put the new filter in. Your belt is easy as well, there will be a diagram on the radiator core support, above the grill, that shows how to route the belt, then find the tensioner, there will be like a 3/8 slot in it for a ratchet, it will move when pressure is applied your belt will slide off of the pulleys and then put your new one on.

The first thing any car owner should do when they buy a car is buy a Chilton's or Haynes manual for their vehicle. It will show you where the parts are on your car and the easiest way to replace them. These manuals are available at Auto Parts stores for under $20.00. Make sure you get the right one for your year of vehicle. You do not need a Haynes AND a Chilton's just one or the other.
By the way, if you are not mechanically inclined, pay for the serpentine belt. But the air filter is a no-brainer and the auto parts store clerk may even put it in for you.

the belt is more work, you need some tools and skills
the air filter should be a mater of poping off some clips and poping in the new one.
