i know there are cards out there, but don't know how to do it. i am currently using a mac mini, but i also have a gateway dimension with extra memory and a network card. currently i have dial-up internet, but plan on getting dsl once i figure out how to configure the computer. for television, i have directv.

First, your computer must have been built to be able to be a TV receiver. My computer is only two years old but cannot be a receiver. If your comp can get TV, you will need to buy a special part, any computer shop will be able to help you on that. Good luck

There is another way of this,
A device is availble by the Name of TV device by using which u
only have to plug your monitor into TV and the TV Device output cable into your CPU, this way both can work at a time,
By using this device you can change the monitor into TV (not the computer and no need to install any card in to your computer)

buy a video tuner card and run the cables to your box.
you can buy them at wal mart or any pc store.
about 150$

get a tv tuner usb device

You do not need internet to do that, you need cable or antana.
