I'll give you a boring answer, but Old Zealand is actually in The Netherlands. It is spelled "Zeeland" in Dutch, and refers to the province just South of Rotterdam. It mainly consists of low lying islands, broad waters and extremist christians. When the Dutch tried to deport the sheepshagging christian communities, they were sent to the other end of the world. There, they called their new land "Zeeland" too, adding "New" just like the Yorkies did to NYC. Sheep are still popular in New Zealand, but since that country is mainly anglophone and hilly, most of the gits we treid to get rid of have come back. In 1953 attempts to drown the lot of them failed miserably. Old Zealand is not a place I recommend you visit.. I'm sick even thinking of the place. But you had to ask.

It was named after the Dutch "Zeeland" but the English mistakenly thought it was named after the Danish "Zealand" so it has been spelt that way ever since.

Dead and buried under the New one. They tried farming cats but pickling them didn't catch on so they imported lots of top soil and decided to farm sheep instead...
