You don't sound racist or offensive. How many people would worry about upsetting people so much, that they would change an avatar name & a question. Don't worry

I am not Jewish but I did grow up in a Jewish neighborhood here in the US. I find the term very offensive. I would like to point out that perhaps that term is less offensive in your neck of the woods and, at the risk of pointing out the obvious, maybe you didn't realize just how your previous name would be perceived. I think we sometimes forget just how global this community on Yahoo is and that what is taken for granted in our culture and/or community is quite abhorrent in another.
I think you were very proactive in changing your name and that this quick action speaks volumes about the content of your character. If Y** Army is the nickname of your team, then by all means, cheer them on at a game but many of us would not have related your previous name to a sports team.

It does not matter what you say or do in this world there is always someone to take offence to it. Stick to your guns and change your name back!!!! What's next? People using Jock as a name getting attacked. Yid is a valid word. Is Yiddish no longer spoken?

I'm not racist either,
Although I was surprised that you called yourself yidarmy when I saw it because I thought it was a cuss that others used against your team.
Don't worry about it, and good luck x x x
P.s.... Come on the gunners ;)
