Hard Drive(C:) what is eating up my free space?

I am down to a quarter of my space available and I don't know where it has all gone. Help???

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

That will list programs installed on your computer, which could be taking up disc space, you can also compress your hard drive like so:

Open "My Computer", right click your C: drive, go to "Properties", check the box: "Compress to save disc space", also check to compress sub-folders, and click "OK".

This process can take several hours depending on the size of your harddrive.

Do have windows XP update on whenever its update it will consume more space of your hard drive(C:) by turning off the update you will be able to stop disk space consumption but you will be at risk of security.

when you convert movies over they put the files in a special spot, you have to get rid of these files

also make sure that you do a disk clean up, it will also speed up your computer

movies and music take up that space , i had to erase alot of stuff i had low c space too because of that

Clear all but the last restore point.

try defragmenting it. or disk cleanup.
