Why do people tell all of their personal information on myspace?

I like myspace don't get me wrong but their are just too many people on their telling their business like where they stay at, and their birthday. In this day in age you can get a lot of info out of just that little bit of info

A lot of people joined myspace to get themselves "out there" as much as possible, and meet new circles of friends.

So far them, that's the whole point, they use myspace like a giant party- exchange phone #s, find out who lives locally and find ppl to hang out with. Not the safest thing in the world to be sure, but these are ppl who do the exact same thing when they go out!

well, first off, people dont realize how much damage can be done with just a little bit of info. ill say that i have a myspace but i only say that i live in texas, but being that i only add people i know in real life it wouldnt be hard for people to find out where im from ya know...this is why it is a good idea to make your profile private and use your own discretion to decide who to add...because if you already know them personally then of course it is ok that they know where you live and when your birthday is! some people will never learn though.

You are just giving the city and state, not specific address, but could get dangerous with giving out your place of employment.. with creepy stalkers. Its is very dangerous out there and parents really need to pay attention to their children profiles and who they are corresponding with.

there are too many crazy ppl out there....to tell where u live but what could it hurt to tell ur bday? its not like ur givin out ur ss# or phone number......
