Studies have been done that show listening to classical music helps them learn and do math. Some students can learn just fine while listening to music (not classical), but others are too easily distracted and need quiet in order to concentrate. It depends on their learning style, some are visual learners, some are auditory, and some have disabilities in their learning processes, which makes it twice as hard for them to learn.
