NO!

There are currently over a million happy users with the original webtv (re-branded MSNTV). The original Webtv has been discontinued. Customers can continue to use Webtv but new boxes are no longer manufactured.

If the box fails you will need to find a replacement on eBay.

You would only have to upgrade to MSNTV2 if your household upgrades to broadband. MSNTV2 is a very different box designed primarily for broadband and a home network.

I enjoy the speed of MSNTV2 on broadband but miss many of the features in the original box.
