So what is the solution? is it a case of choosing the relevant or 'best' information. How can you know what is relevant or best?

And with technology and the human knowledge base growing exponentially, what is the future going to be like for the individual trying to learn.. will it force us to be specialists to a much greater degree than today?

Or will it give the human a more total freedom of learning? If a human has this, what will he/she do with the freedom? might they lose themselves and there sense of direction in it? Or would it be even easier to be goal oriented in ones information seeking?

You ask quite a tricky question. In my opinion it is the information agreed upon by the masses that ends up being the information passed on through generations. Wikipedia, although not verified, will be what people look to in the future.

The human knowledge base is certainly too large for any individual to get through given our present capacities - and what the future holds nobody knows.

I think this was probably always the case - the universe and all that is in it is too large for any individual to comprehend. Now we have so many ways of learning that were not previously available that it is clearer to us that we actually know so little - perhaps arriving at this point of acceptance is the beginning of wisdom.

Wisdom, rather than accumulated knowledge, guides us in choosing what is most relevant and best for us. Establishing guiding principles is a safeguard against getting lost among the endless supply of information (some of which is actually factual). Our common human experience has recognized wise individuals in every generation and consideration should be given to what they can teach us.

Personal experience is the best teacher but not always the most efficient. Research before experience can help us to narrow areas of interest and avoid wasting time.

Whenever I encounter some new information, opinion, statement of supposed fact, news item, whatever - I ask myself "Is it true?" If I cannot answer that question I file the questionable item under 'pending' in my brain for possible future resolution.

As important as it is for one to study, Emerson said that each generation must write its own books, and by that he meant that knowledge is perpetual. If you want to know everything about everything, you will be wasting your time. Why would you want to know every thought that has ever been written?

Unless you are looking for the WHYS that connect the WHATS in history, you will not come across anything profound. The whats are known and widely taught. It's the deeper thinking in which true wisdom and understanding exists.

And isn't an experience worth 1000 books? I sure think so! I could read that many articles or books about skydiving and never really know what it was about until I jumped (Which, by the way, is awesome!).

So really the way to acquire the largest "knowledge base," one must live, not read! When you're out doing things, you'll meet the right people to talk to, you'll learn the things you've been longing to, only in a more real sense than a book could ever capture.

Not to diss books. Like I said, they're important. For heaven's sake, I'm a writer! But trust me on this: life is far richer than any text could be.

Your right there is too much to learn. No one person can ever know everything, so see the future we will learn what we can because different people have different learning capacities. I don’t think anyone has an aim in life to learn everything, we all have areas of interest and those are what I think you should concentrate on developing.

Technology will continue to develop and improve and who know perhaps one day will be able to learn everything through the support of technology. One day we could be expected to take drugs or go under treatments to enhance the performance of our minds. I don’t think the human being will stop being inspired by what’s around him/her, and as vast the knowledge base of humanity is I think there will always be room for more.

Would it make sense that humanity will continue to learn core knowledge, common to all and pertaining to that which makes for social and economic co-existence, and then choose to specialise thereafter. As the population grows in human and knowledge terms, the balance is maintained - more people absorbing more knowledge

through fact.... properly.... it is a astounding question! First think of of all the languages there are interior the international. Now think of of what proportion misunderstandings there are on your on an prevalent basis existence. Do you quite believe that biblical text fabric can go beyond centuries of misinterpretations and private bias? the respond is in all probability no longer. I even have constantly asked this question: What if somebody replaced into born on a abandoned island precise before his mom dies? think the youngster lives. the place would he or she seem for non secular training? the respond is everywhere. i think that it somewhat is impossible to stay a existence that may no longer non secular. certainly everyone seems to be calling for the respond whether or no longer they desire to confess it or no longer. once you're driving to paintings interior the morning and you spot the solar you're making think of: Thats tremendously. yet thats somewhat "GOD"(God is largely a observe that fails to seize the complete meaning of the complete concept of all introduction). Thats somewhat so user-friendly because it somewhat is. there are various differing layers of interpretation, yet it is the respond. like it or no longer you're constantly a witness to the super component approximately introduction(some would use the observe GOD's introduction) however the component is an identical. in certainty self obvious. vehicles, clothing, fabric possessions are only distractions. you be attentive to what GOD is from the beginning up. the only reason to ask why is through fact somebody or something has led to you to alter into distracted. If somebody replaced into born on an Island, i think of they'd be one thousand steps previous to folk. by potential of "us" I propose the homogeneous American cultural thoroughly adapted to the mass media way of existence. regardless of each thing what's extra distracting than Paris Hilton and poporazi. take a seem interior of without distraction. Make your self the guy on the island. i be attentive to its sounds loopy yet throw away your T.V. and spot what you detect on your fellow guy and whats extra in your self. Be innovative. Make something. substitute into passionate some pastime or a business enterprise ventures. Dont sell out. Take a threat. Thats what GOD is. renounce, in its purest style.
