First off, you should know that I am going to be a scheduled c-section this time around, so my doctor doesn't really want me to go into labor. I know that having one contraction isn't that worrysome, but I am only 30 weeks. I had been kind of crampy all day, but nothing really bad. Then today I feel fine other than being fat. HA HA! So, when should I be concerned and has anyone else experienced this?

Braxton Hicks are very common and nothing to worry about - just your body's way of getting ready. I've been having mine since week 22 and I'm 37 weeks with no baby.

If you start having them strongly or more than 5 or so in an hour, that's when you should call the doctor. If nothing else, just for re-assurance

I agree with the first person. Braxton hicks most likely. I wouldn't worry unless you experience more of them close together. General rule is five mins apart for 30 mins to hour! You still have tens wks of pregnancy left so you don't want to go into labor now but you are far enough along there are many things they can do to help the baby. If you aren't feelin good and still cramping today, I would at least call you doctors office and see what they advise? They may want you to come in so they can monitor the baby? Hooking you up to the machine is really the only sure way to know what your contractions are doing!

Probably braxton hicks contractions. They can feel VERY strong, and usually get pretty intense and more often around 30-32 weeks, sometimes sooner. Plus, it isn't completely unusual to have contractions that early as long as they don't get closer together or more intense. I would bet braxton hicks..but if you are concerned, check with your doctor. They can hook you up to some monitors and make sure all is fine, oh and a vaginal exam to make sure cervix is still closed. Good Luck!

Braxton hicks-they are very normal-however if you are worried, rest a little more today and put your feet up when you do, drink plenty of water and if you feel OK about it a small glass of red wine-many mid-wives have used this for years to stop early onset labor and it works - not a lot just 3oz. If you don't try a cup of peppermint tea and honey the point is really to relax the benefit of the wine is the alcohol causes the muscle to relax. Hope this helps!

Just relax and stay off of your feet. Eat normally and stay away from caffeine, however sugar might be a good idea. When I was pregnant with my twins, I went into premature labor, with the symptoms you listed. I didnt think anything of it at first, but later in the day, I realized that Me and the babies were in trouble. I was only 22 weeks along. They had to airlift me from my hometown hospital to a hospital 280 miles away that specializes in premature births and labors. They held me off for 2 and 1/2 months with complete bedrest(in the hospital), and lots and lots and lots and lots of different meds and different docs. So the twins came early anyways, but were healthy considering.
I would get to the hospital ASAP, just so they can at least monitor you, even though you may not be High risk, with twins or anything else, you might want to get it checked on anyways.
