I have noticed in a lot of the questions asked in the pregnancy section that many people say that when you miscarry it is ALWAYS painful and a lot of bleeding, and niether one is true. if people haven't heard it from a doctor or other reliable medical source, why can't they say "in my experience" or "i have heard" because they could give a woman a false sence of security when she has already lost a baby. (which would hurt twice as much as loosing it in the first place.) not to mention make them think they DON'T need to see a doctor when they DO.

(this is more of a trying to a fact out there so women know than an actual question)

personally i think every mom to be should read the following about miscarriages... it supprised the hell out of me.

http://parenting.ivillage.com/pregnancy/pmiscarriage/0,,42s1,00.html

I don;t mean to scare all the already worried mommies... but we should all know the facts.

I agree with you. I work in a medical lab and have studied the pregnancy hormone levels and testing procedures. So, I feel confident in answering those questions. However, if I'm not 100% sure, I'll research my answer first. And I always suggest that the questioner seek a medical opinion. I find it so frustrating reading answers that I know are incorrect. Answers is a great place to help others. However, people need to remember that this is not a computer, these are real people.

Anyway. Website was great. More people need to see that.

I see that alot in all the medical questions not just the pregnancy ones. I completely agree with you. I am still trying to figure out why there would even be a medical section in this type of forum due to all the stupid answers that could be given. I know some people just want to be able to get other opinions but when those opinions help someone to make up their mind not to take action when it clearly needs to be taken there is something totally wrong.
I don't answer serious questions unless I know the answer or have some experience to share about the topic and in that case I make sure the poster knows it is just my experience.

This is Yahoo answers, I'm sure very few of us are Drs. Anyone who asks a question here should know that. People are answering questions should be careful what they say, but the askers should also be aware that they will receive a variety of answers from unqualified, non-professionals. IN MY EXPERIENCE most people who answer questions here DO advice that a woman see a Dr. if she is worried about anything concerning her pregnancy. Sure, some people don't, but many do.

Also, from my research MOST miscarriages involve blood and/or pain -- even a small amount, at least eventually. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but then the woman would have no idea anyway if there were NO symptoms.

I'm not trying to be mean, but it sounds like you're confused as to what Yahoo answers is supposed to be about. It's advice/answers from a variety of people and the asker should take all answers with a grain of salt.

First let me say, its Yahoo! what do you expect? Its the chance you take asking a bunch of strangers! If a person is really so worried, and had any brain what-so-ever, they'd call the doctors office and not depend on what a bunch of Yahoos think. And secondly, the article, the "ivillage" link is inconclusive at best not to mention it doesn't give any sources for its findings. I'm not saying that its not necessarily accurate, but I'd rather get my finding from a more creditable source than ivillage, which in many ways isn't any different than yahoo.

i agree. Most people give false statements. Everyone has a different body. Nobody can say always. When you are going to answer its best if you say in my experience or state that is happened to you. Thanks for all the advice you are giving to everybody. Im 15 weeks along with twins and its scary but worth reading about a miscarriage.

This is yahoo...and you have to expect that people are automatically writing from personal experience or just stuf that they have read. Everytime I write a question...I know it is just advice, and not the doctor telling me. I enjoy reading about other peoples experiences that may help me in mine. I take them lightly, and know that the real truth comes from my doctor...I depend on him!!!

Youre right, people need to researh the facts, or just simply not answer unless they state "in my experiences".
