yes, go to the police. You never know what to expect and this guy sounds like he's not all there.

Yes, it is very serious and dangerous. This guy is an unknown and likely has mental problems. The police must be informed asap or else you are playing with fire. This case doesn't sound like a high school crush or something, so don't let it become tonight's ten o'clock news.

Look out for your friend and get her to file a complaint with the police. And if it gets worse, get a restraining order.

Definitely report this to the police. You can put a restraining order on him, but that will cost you money. I would let my neighbors know if they see any weird guy hanging around to please call the police. Speak to all your family and friends about this so everyone is aware of this. You never know what could be in his mind, it's better to be safe than sorry.

It is popular to be afraid of stalkers and people like that. But it is humane to try to help them. Very, very few stalkers are really dangerous. All the dangerous ones make the news, but the other 99% just keep piddling through their sad life until someone helps them learn healthy boundaries or ways of interacting.
If you want an exciting story to tell, about a scary stalker, then go to the police.
If you want to help a lonely disturbed person who is someone's son/ brother/ father etc then find a better solution.
You can sit with them, perhaps accompanied by a more experienced person, and help them see what they are really looking for.
(of course it would be silly to ignore your security, whatever you do. I'm assuming you have a bit of common sense).

He might be all of the above! Either way, this character is stupid. Just to play it safe, your friend should go to the cops asap to get a restraining order. This guy is either socially retarded and wasn't taught early on how to go about pursuing females or he is a crazed stalker who needs to be put behind bars. Unfortunately, there are crazies in this world and it's ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry - ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS!!!

O.K. either you upset him or you stay upset over what to do. Just go to the police, you never know in this world today what people will do. If it turns out he harmless, better to know then not know.If it turns out he's a rapist, murder,or whatever, then you can say you have saved a life. YOURS

Yeah they should go to the police. Stalkers are dangerous. If it gets too intense, your friend might have to file a restraining order.

They must go to the police without delay. Waiting might prove to be dangerous.

Report it as a way of covering your @SS, just in case you have to go hands on that creep or worse. It may be nothing, but go to the police and let them tell you that, don't assume it will go away. Document, document, document!!!! "Tell them you fear for your life." You may even qualify for a restraining order.
