I am trying to get pregnant, and I am wondering if there is any weight to the skipping a few pills in the cycle and being intimate during that period of time. Would I be more fertile fresh off it or skipping a few?

You would need to stop taking it all together. The pill stays in your system for a couple of days. Even if you forget a day while taking it regularly, you won't get pregnant. The pill leaves that hormone in your system for days. And you shouldn't keep taking it after attempting to become pregnant because those hormones in the pill could damage your developing fetus. Stop taking the pill all together, wait a good while and then begin trying, but don't start taking it again.

Gee, I always thought that the point of birth control was to NOT be fertile. If you're trying to get pregnant, stop talking the pill altogether.

I hate to break it to you but your never fertile while on a good birth control pill. Now a couple days after stopping the pill you may be as fertile as a cat!

Well I don't know quite what you are asking, but I can tell you this.... A woman can still get pregnant during her period even if she is on birth control. She is only taking placebo pills during her period. So she is still ovulating and losing a fertile egg. If you have unprotected sex, sperm can live up to 5 days inside the vaginal walls of your partner!!!

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the concept of birth control to control birth? Maybe I missed something.... Get off completely, they will take a while to completely leave your system. Doesn't anyone go to a Gynecologist anymore or has Yahoo taken over this field also?

You have to stop taking the pill for 3 months before you try to get pregnant otherwise the ingredients of the pill could hurt the baby.

just dont take them at all!! your most fertile on about day 14-17 of your cycle!! (day one being first day of period)
