People have been known to "die of a broken heart", such is the power of the mind. if you trully will yourself to die, you will. The American indians, hindu shamans, etc. know the secret of this truth, that the human mind is capable of creating the reality we seek.
Instead of concentrating on your brokeneness, concentrate on becoming whole again. Find something to give yourself a purpose...what it is is up to you. it does not have to be grandiose or high meaning, it just needs to fill your need. Our purpose in life changes constantly. Remember the saying "The only thing constant in life is change". All things must change and grow at all times or they become stagnant and when that happens, they die.

I dont think the purpose of life can really be something in life itself. Even a virtue like love, although it CAN be a purpose for one's life.....it may not be for another. I mean, in that way, your purpose can really be anything. Love, family, money, big macs, disney movies, caramels.
I think the purpose must be one of two things. Either you believe in something beyond the scope of human life. This is where religion comes in. It provides a purpose that trancends everyday life.
The other option is to find purpose in the idea that life has no purpose. This may seem absurd.......because it is. It may seem contradictory....but its not. If you truly believe that life has no purpose....the result does not necessarily have to be suicide. In fact suicide is completely unrelated and can be seen as an act of misinterpreting what purpose is. It has to do more with lack of hope than lack of purpose. It can be that when you realize that there is no purpose, you find freedom. That you live life to the fullest because it is in those very things you find purpose.
I feel like those are the only 2 options for a thinking person. (Otherwise, join the masses and find purpose in love, or money, or any other one thing, not knowing why that is a purpose). I personally would recommend option A......to find something greater than yourself. Every man has a god. In option A you find it in something greater than yourself......or B where you yourself become your own god. My experience with human nature leads me to seek for something greater than myself.

Some ignorant people give up when they see no purpose to life. The essence of your being is unconditional love, you purpose & duty is to express that Love.

Only a purpose beyond life can legitimately do that, and yet anyone in life can not understand that well enough.

Maybe there is no other purpose but to admire the beauty and fear the cruelty of the universe.
