OK when a coyote gets caught in a trap, they're known to gnaw off the limb that's caught in the trap.... So when you wake up in the morning with your arm around a girl, If she's "Coyote Ugly", you'd gnaw your arm off, as not to wake her and you get away!!

It comes from an old joke about waking up next to a woman who's so ugly that you'd rather chew your arm off at the shoulder than move it and risk waking her up. It comes from the stories about how a coyote with a leg caught in a trap will sometimes chew that leg off to escape.

after a night of getting drunk (when you thought soemone was hot) and sleeping with them you realize they are really ugly. that's coyote ugly. oh by the way, you really should watch the movie i think it explains it there as well.
