It was teddy ruxpin.. we used to get those cassette tapes and put them on his back and he will tell us a story or read to us damn i remember that. Heck I still see them today...lol

Yes, it was Teddy Ruxpin, I got one for my son at a yard sale, but never did get it to work. I think we still have it somewhere.
Although I wouldn't really call it a school toy.
My favorite school toy was Susie Smart! She wasn't mine, she was my cousins. She had her own desk and chalkboard and could talk. She said my name is Susie Smart what's your name? I can do arithmatic 2+2 is 4 4+4 is 8. I can spell cat C A T, dog D O G. I can recite, Twinkle Twinkle Little star how I wonder where you are.
She was made by Deluxe Reading who also made Nancy Nurse who had a bed and a nurse's kit and the Beauty Parlour doll, she had a hair dryer and curlers and make up and stuff. All three were basically the same doll with different outfits and accessories. They were so much fun!

aparently teddy ruxpin is making a comeback this year, LOL. One of my favorites was the speak and spell and the weeble wobbles. I had the weeble wobble tree house and everything. Talk about old timers.

I had a couple Teddy Ruxpin stuff, but my faves were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...i had alot, and my 3 cuzzins had them and we all got our turtle (i was Leonardo)...good times....
