i would keep the child no matter what and i have very low risk, my husband and i are both 23 and not history that would point to any reason for any problems.

and i have also heard lots of false positive stories, and i dont want to stress for months over something that might not even be true.

I didn't...I read that it had a high rate of false positives...and it doesn't actually confirm anything at all. If it comes out positive you'll have to have the amnio sythesis done anyway. Otherwise its a personal choice. If you found out that there was something wrong with the baby, what would you do...would you terminate the pregnancy? If not then there is no other reason to take it except to plan for child who will have special needs. And even then you have no way of knowing to what extent those needs may be. What if the child is mildly retarded...has perfect motorskills, speech only slightly impaired, or just developes at a slower rate than average children. Ghees, thats not a huge amount of special needs to plan for now is it. But its really a personal choice.

I didnt take the test because i was going to keep my baby no matter what, after a long chat with the doctor we both decided i didnt need it, i was not gonna follow up with an amnio so i felt it was pointless knowing if i was a high or low risk,
but this has to be decided by you and only you.
good luck
