Because they're stupid and prejudiced. I'm white British and have walked around refugee camps in the West Bank without protection and never had a problem, and if there's a concentration and breeding ground of terrorists anywhere in the world it's there.

Of course only a tiny minority are terrorists but what you describe will make more sympathisers with them in future.

To those who've written "All terrorists are Arabs" - how ignorant can you be? Who started suicide bombings? The Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka. Who first bombed undefended civilian targets from the air? We British in Iraqi Kurdistan in the 1920s. Who waged a terrorist war within the UK for 30 years very recently? Irish Republicans. Who are the terrorists in Russia? Chechens. Who bombed London last year and Mike's Place, a big bar on the beach in Tel Aviv? British Pakistanis. Who are the Taliban? Afghans. Who live in Somalia? Somalis. And (I've left this one till last because I know I'm going to get more hate back from this than the others), who began terrorism and ethnic cleansing in its modern form? The Jews of the Stern and Irgun Gangs during the setting up of the Israeli state 1945-48.

Oh, and remember the Oklahoma bombings?

I do not assume that Arabs are terrorists. I think that as a people they are very attractive, mostly friendly and smart. I will honestly admit that since 09/11/02 I involuntarily wonder every time I meet or see someone that is obviously Arabic or Muslim I wonder in fear if they are the radical or subscribe to the Wahhabi or Sharia laws or if they are less judgmental and more peaceful. I feel I am being judged also if that person should happen to be a more radical (or what we westerners consider radical) arab or muslim.

Unfortunately, you'll have to live with it. These people are not at fault. Most terrorists are Arabs. Arabs never demonstrate against terrorism. On the other hand there is big demonstration against the cartoonists showing that they are not passive. This only shows that they approve and support terrorism. Had they demonstrated against terrorism in the same manner, this would have erased the terrorist perception.

Religion gets the blame but it is people who use religion for their own personal agenda to do serious wrongdoing. Christendom being of no exception.
Religion in itself is not at fault as Jehovah's Witnesses do not get involved in the political wrangles of the world. They know that this system of the world where evil and badness is rampant will be done away with when Jehovah restores the heavenly kingdom on earth and Jesus will reign as king over righteous people on Earth.

Not all Arabs are terrorists, but all terrorist are Arabs. If the Arab community doesn't like this, THEY need to get rid of the terrorists. If the peaceful Muslims want positive feedback ,they have to help STAMP OUT Terror .
This means even turning in your family or friends that ARE involved.

The unfortunate thing is that some very sick people have done so many violent things that they claim are in the name of Islam and it has given all Arabs/Muslims a bad reputation.

Because the media has perpetuated that stereotype. I see it everywhere. When i'm out and an Arab walks in, everyone looks like he's about to detonate himself. The media has created this hysteria and its totally unfair and i'm sorry that you've been discriminated against.
