yes because the football you are thinking of is european style better known as socer we have soccer in the us as well but the us football is played with our hands soccer is played with your feet

Yes we call YOUR Futbol by the name Soccer. Although not sure I would call teh ball an oval. Oh and in OUR football when someone is touched he doesn't fall over and get taken off on a stretcher. Actually the guy with the ball usually gets knocked onto the ground in what we call being tackled.

American style football is much more like rugby than anything like European style football. The ball is slightly smaller, but same shape as in rugby.
The game does include gladiator like padding which makes these players out to be much more violent than even rugby players...something about the invincibility of wearing all that armor.
There are other obvious rule differences between American football and rugby, but American football was made for television with its play stopages, players with attitude, and violent collisions.

Yes. It's the most popular sport here. The players aren't a bunch of p***ys when they are hit (rolling around the field, looking for a foul).....unless it's the Patriots.
