If you want to switch over to Athlon 64 from
P4, you have to change the motherboard also. In previous P4 motherboards it sometimes run on SD Ram modules, if you have such a type of motherboard and SD Ram you have to shift to DDR/DDR2 Ram module also. In quite miniscule budget the Athlon 64 3500+ and the Nforce 4 chipset based Asus/ M.S.I./Gigabyte motherboards come in handy. It cost within Rs. 8500/- or less. DDR/DDR2 Ram modules of 512 MB cost about Rs. 1600/-.
