Just thinking out of the box......

We pull out. A lot of Muslim on Muslim action. Lots of dead Mujahadeen and their supporters. When the dust settles, we go back and do a deal with the winners.

Sooner or later all the Muslim factions are going to stop fighting each other and all turn their attention to their real enemy - the Christian west. A muslim friend of mine told me this was in the koran, and that such a holy war will happen some day, it's just a case of when. The day that sunnis and shi'ites unite is the day that us in the west should be really worried. Am I scared? You bet I am!

Do I trust George W Bush or Tony Blair to do anything about it and prevent a full-scale jihad? Nope. We're f****d if we do, and f****d if we don't. Leaving them to it is not really an option any more. Just keep those nukes handy, we'll be needing them one of these days - trust me on this!!

First, that would be really unfair to Iraq, considering who it was that deposed their last government.
Second, the extremists are not going to stop just because we do. Unfortunately, the world conflict is likely to increase no matter what the US does or what happens in Iraq. The extremists have repeatedly shown their determination to place the world forcibly under Sharia law. The degree of ruthlessness and determination is comparable to that of fascism in WWII. Our willingness to let other countries govern themselves is incomprehensible to them.

I totally agree with you, Kevin. We could just send our troops to Kuwait or Saudi Arabia and wait for the Iraqis to finish killing each other and when the smoke clears go back in and do our thing.

This is a 'wind up' right?

Roll over and go back to sleep before Bush gets wind of your idea.

This is what will happen, but it will be Syria or Iran that will step into the void and not us.
