I had a positive pregnancy test last night. I experienced spotting over the weekend and it was bright red. Could I have miscarried but still had a positive pregnancy test due to HCG still being in my system?

That is possible. It takes time for the HcG hormone to decrease. However, you shouldn't jump to any conclusions. I suggest you visit your doctor. They can run a quant level. Find out how HcG is circulating. That will give a better idea of what is going on. Hope that helps. Best wishes and take care.

technically yes you could have miscarried and still had the hormone in your system. (one of my biggest fears) but more than likely your spotting was implantation bleeding. either way tommorrow you will find out for sure (like i find out today) so good luck and take care.

and by the way just to clear things up- some women when they miscarry have a LOT of blood, some have none. Some have severe pain, and some don't have any. In fact for some women the only symptom they have of a miscarriage is "the feeling of not being pregnant any more" so don't write something off just because some else had it worse. a miscarriage is like pregnancy in general, it is different for every person, every time.

It's possible, but you could just have had some spotting too. Some spotting in early pregnancy (especially when not accompanied with strong pain) can be normal. You should get to the doctor as soon as possible to check things out. Good Luck!

It could be from the hcg left in your body..or it could be spotting. IT is also possible that you were carrying multiples and lost one. If twins run in your family..this is a distinct possibility. Hopefully the dr will be able to give you good new tomorrow!

No, it won't be a false positive, you're pregnant. You probably experienced implantation bleeding. A miscarriage would have caused you to have a normal to heavy period lasting at least 5 days.

If you had micarried, you would have seen a LOT of blood mixed with clotting, and would have experienced lots of pain too.
Go to a doctor if you feel you need to, but I think that you are fine since you didn't mention clotting and pain.
Good luck!

Go to the doctor. Especially if you think you're pregnant and that you've had a miscarriage.
