Veins bring blood TOWARD the heart. Most often, this blood is Deoxygenated, however the pulmonary veins bring Oxygenated blood toward the heart.

Veins are thin walled blood vessels designed to carry low pressure blood. Most of blood loses pressure only after getting deoxygenated, so the veins are generally bluish in appearance. There is an important exception: the pulmonary vein that carries oxygenated blood from lungs to heart for pumping. But the general principle that high pressure (present near the pumping end of the heart) requires strong vessels (arteries) irrespective of oxygenation level of blood is valid.

Veins are used in the bocy to carry oxogen depleted blood to the left side of the heart where it is pumped through the pulmonary artery toweards the lungs where it picks up oxogen. From the lungs it goes through the pulmonary veins back to the right side of the heart where it is pumped through the Aorta and all the other arteries to the body where it gives off the oxogen it is carrying in the capalaries and then it goes back into the veins.

veins carry deoxygenated blood from all parts of the body to the heart.this blood contains less oxygen and more carbon dioxide.there are certain exceptions ,like, pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood( blood containing a high percentage of oxygen) from the lungs to heart, where it is pumped throughout the body.
