You really don't HAVE to take much of anyhthing. The thing you will need most are the clothes you want to bring your baby home in and some blankets, because at MOST hospitals they give you diapers and wipes and formula (if your going to breastfeed you wont need this anyway) But it is always nice to fill up the diaper bag if you are llike I was. I had diapers and newborn wipes, and at my hospital they let you put clothes on the baby even if they are going to be taking him/her into the nursery for a while. But I also had some booties and socks and some dirty diaper bag thingys... lol. I was breast feeding, so ofcourse I didn't have to worry with anything like a bottle or passies.

Hope this helps

Good Luck and Congrats
May God Bless

depending on the climate where you live basically everyone is right simply clothes and I would suggest some spit up towels, and some blankets to wrap him in ecspecially if grandma has mad him or her something special what a way to come home. Other than that you have everyhing right there. You can even let your 4 year old help daddy pack the bag when he comes to pick you and the new baby up your older child will feel apart of this you may end up with some things you do not need but with gudiance from dad it could be a good experience for the new big sibling and with dads help you will have the right clothes for the season and an even more excited older sibling. By the way Congratulations

Don't forget your baby book :) for the footprints!! I also took thank you notes to write in the "downtime" for anyone who brought things to the hospital. I brought two different baby outfits, depending on the weather where you are.
But the hospital stocks you up!!! Make sure you take what you pay for there! IE: ANYTHING you have opened. A&D, diapers, formula, and don't forget those handy temperature strips!! They are the best! they will keep in your fridge for a long time. Maybe bring an different paci than the hospital uses if you are wanting to have a different shaped "nipple". Sometimes the round ones they use are hard to find in stores.
Good luck and congrats!

I brought along the little hand mittens, onesies and jammies, so I could dress them in their own clothes and not the starchy hospital t shirts. I also brought along an outfit and a little hat to bring baby home and blankies for the car ride home. Besides clothes, I brought along a nail clipper, some newborn diapers with the notch for the belly button (since most hospitals provide the standard size 1 diaper, and you have to roll the diapers down)...I also put a disposable camera in the diaper bag just in case my husband forgot to grab the camera....Other than those few things, I used whatever the hospital provided...

I brought clothes (plus hats, booties, mittens, etc) and blankets for both of my children. I also brought extra diapers, as my son was a poop machine and went through all the the hospital gave me. If you are planning on bottlefeeding you may want to bring some bottles and formula too. If you are breastfeeding, bring some breast shields--your milk may come in sooner than you anticipate.

Congrats on your impending stork delivery!

Bring the outfit you want to bring the baby home in and blanket. The hospital usually provides you with diapers and wipes. Other than that I myself just brought slippers and lounge around in clothes and personal care for myself. by the way good luck. Don't forget the car seat!=)

The only thing the baby is really going need is clothes to go home in. The hospital provides diapers, wipes, bottles already filled with formula (if you're not going to breastfeed) and pacifiers (if you choose to use them).

When we had our daughter in January, we ended up coming home with three bags of diapers, several packets of wipes, and a dozen bottles!

For the car trip home? Not much, just the outfit you want to bring baby home in and the appropriate seasonal gear if necessary. Everything else you need for baby in the hospital is supplied by them.

I don't think I really packed ahead and planned anything. Just the coming home outfit, and a coat and hat or snowsuit if necessary. You will receive diapers, wipes, the t-shirts in the hospital during your stay, and the burp cloths. Also they will give you formula. If it's not mentioned or offered, just ask. They sent plenty home with us. Also bring blankets, a big thick one for the trip outside and home.

Be prepared! LOL

Here are a few ideas:

- two warm hats for the babys head
- at least three to four outfits (onesies, sleepers - don't take anything frilly or nice)
- two pacifiers
- two cans of formula (just in case your milk doesn't come in)
- bottles and nipples
- a whack of diapers (the hospital may expect you to provide your own)
- a recieving blanket and a warmer blanket

And of course, don't forget stuff for you! Comfy clothing, shower stuff and of course lots of maxi pads.

All the best to you and the baby!
