Some times it runs just fine, but most of the time the screen goes blue and I get a bunch of white writing thats says an error has occurred and I need to shut down, if the problem persists to contact the person in charge of maintenance etc... Needless to say, its a PC, Windows XP. I bought the laptop two years ago and its not under warranty any more. Its a Dell Inspiron 9200. I think it may have something to do with my wireless adapter because when I disable it I don't get the blue screen any more. When I enable it, I get the blue screen almost immediately. I've unistalled and re-installed it several times. I have Mc Afee and no viruses have been detected in many many scans.
Please help, thanks a ton.

The BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) comes up for several reasons. If it only occurs when you run your pcmcia card then it may be a system resource problem or possibly a memory error causing the problem. Best bet to try to remedy the situation is to do a re-install of XP with the card in.
When you do this make sure to NOT select to "use the recovery console" Just select to install windows, then it'll find the previous installation and ask if you want to "keep existing files" Select that option and it should work.
If the problem persists you may need to get a diferent wireless card or at least check the manufacturers site for any updated drivers/firmware

which i think usually happen when something goes wrong in windows 98 and 95 maybe your computer was updated to xp
and that is a bad idea, old computers can't handle modern hardware but i don't think there is a solution
(because if the real colprait is what i think is that your computer was originally a windows 98, or 95 then the motherboard is probiably old and you can't fix that to work faster)

Try updating the driver for your wireless adapter, there might be an update that fixes this problem. If you don't get it any other time at all, and the driver update does not fix it, try contacting the manufacturer of your wireless adapter and ask them...it might even be a defective device.

download avg free and adaware update them and run them in safe mode
