I agree with the first answer, withdraw slowly by always having something else to do when they want to get together with you. I don't agree that it is a good idea to just dump them, unless they are abusing you or others in some fashion. Why burn your bridges socially? Just ease away from them and start looking for companions who are more your cup of tea.

Do you mean for good, or just at a social function? If they are that annoying, why do you consider them friends? At a social function, you could start coughing and excuse yourself. For good, just don't be available anymore.

this is probably the hardest thing to do socially. what I've found is I on purpose make things collide with what they want to do. like if they want to go out somewhere make other plans. but you have to be gradual with it or else it will seem obvious, its not an easy task at all, it really depends on the individual situation.

Get away from them.Dont mingle with them as you do now.If they ask you to go with them make up an excuse and leave.
