If you want to get a divorce, you need to make sure you get it done right. There are too many ways that you can get screwed in a divorce if you are not careful. You have children, you need a lawyer... There may not be much money in the mix now, but you could end up paying a lot of money for a long period of time when you do not have to if you are not careful. The easy and cheap way now, could cost you money and time with your children in the long run...

I'd suggest getting a lawyer. There are so many ins and outs, you would be surprised. Or go to your local bookstore and get "The Divorce Book" which gives you step by step info on the paperwork. But a lawyer is best when you have kids.

There are programs where you can download all the paperwork and do them yourself saving you tons of cash. Depends on if it is an appicable divorce and the state you live if it is acceptable there. I completed my divorce downloading the paperwork, and filing it myself and we had 2 children and quite a sum of money and property to divide between us. It cost us less than $300.00 to divide between us.. It took 1 1/2 mths to finalize...Good Luck..

Depending on the length of the marriage, and since children are involved, you should hire a lawyer , there are many things involved, custody, alimony , even if there are few assets
