Forever, until you correct whatever caused the curse in the first place (replacing bones removed from ancient Indian burial grounds, etc.)

It depends on the curse. Some are only on the specific person. Some are on all the living relatives. Some are placed to last for a specified number of generations. Some are set to last untils some specific task is performed or circumstance comes into existance.

What all this means, in a nutshell is that it is possible for a curse to last for hundreds of years and for dozens of generations. There really is no uppper limit other than in the mind of the one placing the curse as they are the one that decides the parameters (who, what, when, where, why and how) of the curse.

It depends on a number of things. Culture it comes from, and hence the numbers they consider sacred or unholy, the "power" of the curse or it's caster, if there's a condition to end it, etc. Most common are the curse on the individual, the curse on the individuals children and the seven generation curse. 3 generations, 10 generation, a dozen and 13 are also popular. A few claim 100 or 1000 generations, but these seem to be the easiest to defeat, mythologically speaking.

As long as we 'believe' in it - it is sure to last.

Energy grows where focus goes.

Thoughts attract our reality. Energy is what we are made up of and our thoughts are energy too. Law of Attraction states that what we think will become true for us. If we wish to change something then we have to change the way we think about it. This includes curses which really are superstition and can only 'hurt' the believer. If you choose to believe in it then you will keep the 'energy' of this curse alive and it will be seen to manifest into ones lives. Superstition will have you reading into much too much and can bring much unecessary negative thinking breeding more doubt and fear.

We have a choice and the first one each day is to breathe, the ones after that would be best to serve our highest good and the good of those we love.

Blessings be in light and peace

Traditionally, 7 generations is belived to be the limit. But in real life, look at how alcoholism, abusive relationships, codependency, etc run in the family? I'd say, a curse will last until one person has finally had enough of living under the curse and breaks it, that is -- heals himself.

This is a trick question, right? I guess a curse can last for a particular person as long as they believe in it, or want something to blame when things don't go well. Frequently things don't go well because of a lack of planning, including education.

For the rest of us ... there ain't no curse to be concerned with. When things go badly we have to accept responsibility and try to do better.

It depends on the person who receives the curse. If they are weak minded, then it could last a lifetime. If however that person is strong, logical and level headed, then the curse does not last more than a millisecond if that. In other words there is no such thing as a curse its all mumbo jumbo.

To people who answer that they do not believe in curses:
If I asked you what's the color of Santas clothes you would answer "red" even if you don't believe in Santa. There is nothing wrong in asking about mythological things. Cleared that, I would say that a curse can last a very long time. There are stories about Egyptian curses affecting modern archeologists, so thousands of years at least.

As a lawyer, I've been cursed at by some pretty serious and angry folks. The best of them hasn't been able to keep it up more than about five minutes. Personally, I can't curse for more than about six seconds, even when something heavy lands on my toes.

A good Egyptian mummy curse can last 3000 to 4000 years. Fortunately, curses can be broken. Then they can be as short as a few minutes.

Belief in the curse and the power of the curse aid in sustaining the curse by giving it power. The curse will remain effective as long as substantial belief surrounding the curse exists.
