In 50 years time, my IP address will be longer. Wonder if it'll be beyond IPv6 by then :\

When I get my time machine working, i'll tell you if nowadays internet is rubbish in comparison ;)

I think the internet is currently going through a second wave right now.

I think this because when the internet first came about (into popular culture at least) it was new, exciting and revolutionary. So people really hyped it all up. So there was this big web boom and many of the .com companies making it big over night.

Well that kind of crashed and burned for many. The thing is we had a really, really useful tool. The problem was no one really understood the beast that it was. To be honest i still don't think that we do even slightly understand the potential and that's what holds it back. Imagination is the limit. But its the thought of the chaos of the sum of every ones imagination that really makes the internet a mind blowing phenomena.

However due to web trends i think we are hitting the second of many internet waves here. The web has suddenly become much more interactive and accessible. Some of this maybe to do with the predominance of certain conventions (eg. server, technologies, scripting languages, CSS etc.). Its the database driven shopping carts that have taken the internet era and its had a big social impact too.

Internet bandwidth is also a huge consideration too. Like when were all above and beyond 100Mb connections the film industry and television broadcasters and licensers are really gonna have to look at their strategies (that already goes for the telephone companies).

I think it may have changed so much in 50 years that it would be hard to even relate it to something that we call the internet now. This i believe is due to exponential developments in technology.

I could write more ... maybe some other time. lol blah blah blah

compare to how it was 50 years ago and from that project the imense infinite power of the internet. yes its true, in 50 years time it will be impossible to find anything on the web and all your secrets will be able to be stored on the web with no hope of anyone finding them!!!!!!!1

I would have thought so. I'm hoping that in years to come I'll be able to think of something I want to eat, it will appear on my screen and I'll be able to take it out an eat it!!
