I am seeing a great guy who is currently going through a divorce. On average, how long does this take?

A divorce itself if a simple procedure that can be done in 3 months.
What takes the time is the finances and children matters, which can run on for years.
It is usual to avoid finalising the divorce (ie applying for decree absolute) until financial matters are concluded so that can stretch matters out a bit.

There is no easy answer....it depends on the parties involved. A coworker is going through a NASTY divorce right now and he's being a toll retard about it - as is his soon to be ex. They both are fighting every point and it's just flat out ugly. It's been going on for over a year and it looks it has no chance of coming to an end any time soon.

I would say between 6 months to 3 years for the average joe and jane doe.
Kids and money usually slow the thing down to a crawl esp. if there fighting over it. Also where do you live and is the Justice System there overworked?

It all depends on the spouse. It can take as little as 6 months to as long as two years.

I don't know how long it takes where you are. But when my wife divorced here husband it only took about four months. She filed in October and was finalized in Janurary

Took me 5 month from beginning to end . It depends on the courts too . Sometimes they are totally backed up and it could take longer . It could depend of the lawyers also . Whatever you do DON'T marry him on his exes bday LIKE MY EX DID!

It depends on where he lives and if they are fighting about who gets what. My divorce took 2 years.....

a contested divorce, like this is, could be very time consuming, costly, and could get very ugly during it so prepare yourself but you will eventually get it
