It's the sound of entrapped nitrogen and other gases which are released from the gaps inbetween our finger bones ,while cracking our fingers
Its a natural process to remove fatigue stress.

Its just because of the air between the hands which was forced to move in a faster way that they cant because to leave the space for the hand to rest on the other the sound comes

i'm not sure, but my daughter cracks her fingers all the time and drives me crazy! i cant stand the sound of it. i don't think it can cause any long term damage, but i don't recommend it

dya mean like when you bend them back? i think its something to do with your bones rubbin on the joints because your cartilage is moved but im just making this up to try and help you maybe someone wise will leave a message. hope this is ok x
