Condoms are about 80% effective, mostly due to human error in using them. That means that one out of every 5 times you use just a condom, you could get pregnant.

I suggest you find a second form of bc if you are not interesting in having a child, but continue to use a condom to prevent the spread of STDs.

Condoms are pretty effective when used properly. If you are very young, and I suspect you are, you should really consider the possibility that you are not ready for sex in the first place. If you are going to have sex, then you should really get started on birth control pills in addition to using condoms. If you are not able to get yourself to the doctor and on the pill, then you should NOT be having sex. Good luck and PLEASE really think this through because a child is a huge responsibility and it is FOREVER!! I have a six month old myself and he is HARD work. I am married and my husband is VERY VERY supportive and helpful and it is still extremely difficult to raise a child...THINK ABOUT IT!!!

Nothing is 100%. It's only effective if your partner is using the condom correctly. I suggest that if you don't want to get pregnant or contract an STD that you take better precautions.

The percentage is on the box I believe. Over 90% Nothing but abstinence is 100%. If possible use a cream or foam spermicidal.

It's working for us. ... That and celibacy! of course we've been married for 15 years so that celibacy part is real easy.

take a stroll to the Family planning clinic or your Obgyn and see what's on the menu. condoms protect against a host of undesirables besides pregnancy - so I think that's your best bet - and maybe a spermicide.

Okay...I just answered your question 17.senior.virgin.proud, and now your asking about condoms...Are you confused, or just trying to fool ppl..?

About the condom: Its supposed to be 100% effective...but make sure you check to see it there is any holes in it before use...

It is most the time. Make sure that it doesn't have a hole or rip. They have sponges and female condoms to take extra precautions. Hope that helps and stay safe and enjoy LOL!

No it's not effective and it surley isn't our only birth control. Ask your doctor about things like this and he/she will tell you what to do.

if used properly, it can prevent pregnancy and stds. if used properly, it may break and cause you get pregnant or an std. no method, aside from abstinance, is foolproof. so keep that in mind.

if you can't deal with the prospect of getting pregnant or contracting something, even tho you ARE using protection, you shouldn't be having sex no matter what age you are.

I think they say it 99.9 percent effective. Have you thought about going to planed parent hood to get on the pill. With the pill and condom it is more unlikely that you will get pregnant.
